A Very Quick Update & Cafe Noodle Ustream Festival – Sept 18 & 19

Posted in Uncategorized on September 17, 2010 by alunvaughan

Hi everyone.

Before I go on, I have to offer a huge , enormous, gargantuan apology for my absence in recent months. It’s been a bit of a mad time personally and musically, so I just haven’t really had the time or inclination to post blogs.

As most of you may already know, I made the (rather difficult) decision to leave Panic Room in July. It wasn’t an easy thing to do, and wasn’t a snap decision by any means, but ultimately I think it was the right decision. If you want to read the full press release, please head over to the Panic Room website.

I’ve also posted a few demos and random tunes, along with remixes of tunes by She Makes War and guitarist Matt Stevens, on Soundcloud. But I though you were using Bandcamp, you cry? Well,I’m using both sites – full albums and “official” material will appear on Bandcamp, remixes and oddities will appear on Soundcloud.

So…

For remixes and curiosities – http://soundcloud.com/alunvaughan
For entrepreneurial meerkats – http://comparethemeerkat.com ( sorry, wrong advert)

Anyway, the main event I want to tell you about is that tomorrow (Sept 18) at 9pm BST, I’ll be performing a solo bass set as part of Cafe Noodle‘s Ustream Festival. I’ll probably play a few tunes you may know if you’ve heard me play solo before, but for most of the set I want to play new songs, some covers, and some improvisations which I won’t have heard before either!

There are 17 artists performing sets over the two days (Sept 18 & 19) streamed live from all over the world, and it promises to be an amazing event. As part of the event, we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. I know several people who suffer with MS to varying degrees and am proud to be part of this event.

You’ll be able to watch the whole thing online at Cafe Noodle, where you can also view the running order of artists and, of course, donate.

Hope to see you there!

Take care and I’ll try not to leave it so long until the next update,
Alun
